Service management software for generator dealers and service companies

Generator work is contracts, inspections and the call at 2 a.m. ShopWorx keeps every unit’s hours and history, bills the preventive-maintenance agreements on schedule, puts the inspection checklist on the tech’s phone, and gets the emergency call onto the board the moment it comes in.

Sound familiar?

These are the problems this page exists to fix.

  • PM agreements tracked in a spreadsheet, with visits missed and renewals forgotten
  • Inspection reports on paper that never make it back to the customer file
  • Emergency calls dispatched by phone with no record of who went or what they found
  • Units with no hour history, so nobody knows what is due or what was done
  • Contract billing that depends on someone remembering to send the invoice

A day in the shop with ShopWorx

  1. 1

    Sell the agreement

Set up a service contract: preventive maintenance, full service, hours-based or emergency response, billed monthly, quarterly or annually, with auto-renew.

  2. 2

    Let it schedule itself

Scheduled services on the contract generate the work orders when they fall due, so the dispatch board already has the PM visit on it.

  3. 3

    Inspect and document

Techs run the inspection template on the mobile app: pass/fail items, readings, photos and a signature. Findings turn into an estimate for repairs.

  4. 4

    Bill and renew

Contract billing goes out on its schedule; repairs are invoiced from the work order. The portal shows the customer every unit, visit and invoice.

Questions shops ask us

Can a PM contract generate its own work orders?
Yes. Scheduled services on a service contract create the work orders when they come due, and they appear on the dispatch board like any other job.
Can I bill contracts automatically?
Yes. Contracts carry a billing frequency and payment terms, and recurring invoices go out on that schedule. Online payment and QuickBooks or Xero sync are included.
Can I build my own inspection checklists?
Yes. Inspection templates have sections and items of several types, can be specific to an equipment type, and are versioned so old reports still match the form they were filled on.
Does it handle customers with many sites?
Yes. Customers have multiple locations and contacts, and equipment is tied to a location, so a dispatcher sees which site and which unit the call is about.
How does the free trial work?
Pick a plan, add a card, and use everything for 14 days at no charge. We remind you 7, 3 and 1 days before the trial ends, and you can change plans or cancel from Billing before the first charge.
